Lance Henderson
Lance was previously with the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, where he held a number of executive positions throughout his 12-year tenure. There he served as the Director of Finance and Administration and later as the Director of Fund Development during a period of rapid expansion of the agency’s programs, funding and infrastructure. Most recently, he served as Executive Director, leading the agency’s innovative public policy, client service and HIV prevention programs. Concurrent with his work at the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, Lance served as Chief Financial Officer and then as President of the Pangaea Global AIDS Foundation. He played a leadership role in conceiving, organizing and funding this new foundation to expand HIV treatment access in resource-poor regions of Africa and Asia. Lance began his career as a nonprofit executive in 1988 at The Names Project Foundation in San Francisco, following a successful investment banking career with Dean Witter Reynolds, where he managed a range of corporate finance relationships in the technology, real estate and biotechnology industries. Lance earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School. |
